The recipe of choice this week was Glazed Meatballs (and yes you can call me a crock pot mommy because it's another crock pot dish). The recipe comes from my friend Katie and I have no idea where she got it from. Sorry.
Glazed Meatballs
Ingredients:
16 oz of meatballs (I used frozen meatballs and I had a bag from Sam's so I used 1/3 of the bag about 32oz)
1/2 cup of crushed pineapple (I doubled the recipe so I used a medium sized can of pineapple)
1/2 cup of BBQ sauce of choice ( I went with Kraft Bulls Eye original and I used about 1 cup)
water (you're fixing it in the crockpot so you'll probably need to add some water around 1/4- 1/3 cup)
Directions: Add all ingredients to crockpot and cook on low for about 4-5 hours. High for about 3-4. Meatballs are already cooked so you are basically just warming them up and letting the glaze set. Sorry about the picture. It's the ingredients all added, meatballs are still frozen.
Family Take: Once again, the little one didn't eat it. My daughter thought they were yummy but she didn't like to have so much glaze on them. I liked them. However, I must say that the brand of meatballs I used weren't that great. I honestly like to make my own meatballs and these frozen ones just didn't have the taste I wanted. The glaze on the other hand was awesome. We were running late on time so I just added some pasta roni and broccoli with cheese for sides. Quick and easy. Will I make this dish again? For the family, I doubt it. There was too much leftover. Now if I'm headed to a party and need to bring a dish then this is a perfect idea. I would also like to try it with other sauces, maybe a spicy sauce or honey glazed bbq.
| I know, I know. I left out the broccoli! I'm going to get this right one of these days! |
